Your information stays yours
Privacy Policy
SumBook keeps your financial records on your Apple devices and in your own iCloud. The developer does not receive them.
SumBook is made by SumKind of Apps, a division of U.S. Predistics, LLC.
Where your information lives
What you enter stays on your Apple devices and, when iCloud is available, in your private iCloud storage. The maker of SumBook does not host, see, or receive it.
SumBook does not ask for bank passwords or connect to a bank.
Sharing a SumBook
A SumBook is shared only when its owner chooses Share and invites someone. Sharing uses Apple's iCloud sharing, so the shared SumBook lives in the owner's iCloud and on the devices of the people invited. Apple runs that service; the maker of SumBook does not receive the shared records.
Each person has a role: Owner, Admin, Member, or Viewer. The role decides what they can see and change. A Pocket marked Only you stays with you and is not shared.
When someone is removed they lose access. Copies already on their devices may remain.
What stays private to you
Which SumBooks and Pockets you hide, which ones ask for Face ID, and your appearance choices are saved in your own private iCloud. Other people on a shared SumBook never see them.
Diagnostics
SumBook sends nothing on its own. If you choose Send diagnostics, SumBook prepares a report of counts and timings only, with no names or amounts, and hands it to the app you pick.
What SumBook does not do
No advertising, no third-party analytics, no behavioral tracking, and no sale of financial information.
Free and paid features
The core of SumBook is free and fully usable. Optional features and tips are offered through Apple.
Apple handles payment and tells SumBook what to unlock. SumBook does not receive your payment card, bank details, or Apple Account password. Buying something does not add ads or tracking, and it does not give anyone access to your financial data.
Apple services
SumBook uses Apple services that operate under your Apple Account and Apple's policies: iCloud and CloudKit for private synchronization and sharing; WidgetKit and an App Group for a read-only balance snapshot on your device; StoreKit for optional in-app purchases and tips. Apple may process account, purchase, diagnostics, and service information according to its own privacy policies.
Your choices
You can save a full copy of a SumBook, and you can export transactions and budgets as CSV files. Those files are yours; where they go is up to you. If you lock a full copy with a passphrase, you need that passphrase to open it.
Items you delete wait in Recently Deleted, where you can restore them, until the number of days you choose in Data has passed.
You can remove a SumBook in Settings. Removing it permanently removes its transactions, budget, Pockets, and schedules from SumBook and from iCloud after synchronization.
Changes
This policy will be updated before SumBook adds any new way of sharing or collecting information.
